Hello
My name is Andrea and I am passionate about creating a positive learning environment for people of all ages. Witnessing those AHA! moments when learners experience accomplishment and joy is what motivates me. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to improve their circumstances and I hope to help you do just that.
My Story
I have worked as an educator for 17 years, teaching people of all ages here in South Africa, the Middle East and Far East. My degree in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town has allowed me to combine my passion for theatre and education. I have also toured South Africa with community theatre programs and then worked in professional theatre for a few years before finally following my true passion: education.
I find great satisfaction in helping people become more confident in themselves and in how they interact with the world. One of my fondest memories include a Foreign Language student who excitedly told me how she had confidently communicated in English whilst on holiday in a foreign country - she was still learning English at beginner level with me at that time. Another is of a local teacher in her fifties who was inspired to go back to university after attending one of my courses here in Cape Town. They were both so proud of their achievement. It's moments like these that I treasure in my work.
